 Aug 29 -Did the whole MN fair thing with Justin today.  It was surprisingly calm and nice.  Yummy food too.  

Back to school night for the next two days.  

Allison had her first babysitting job today.   She was so super excited.
Aug 30 - Lazy day.  Took Jacob to his back to school night to get his schedule.
Justin is in Sioux Falls until tomorrow night.
Sept 7  Just saw a hummingbird out my office window!  Amazing!  First ever in Minnesota!
First day of school for Jacob (yesterday for the others) so MY first day !!!!
Listening to some acoustic Tinashe on You tube.
Jacob started Drivers Ed tonight.  Holy. Crap.
9-28 I asked Ammon if he'd like to come read books with me.  He said "only if you make me a smoothie."

A little Geocaching

In between General Conference Sessions, we drove to Elm Creek Park reserve to play at the awesome park (if you haven't been, you MUST go see this park) and to find a few geocaches.  It's fun to find a family activity that all the different ages enjoy. 

They bring little doo dads to trade.  So exciting for them.

The kids new cell phone has a pretty good gps on it.

 

 

 

First day of school Pictures

These were mostly after school which is now a Dittmer thing, instead of the morning.  Early morning seminary made that choice for us.

Long Lake

We took the kids (sans Jacob who was in drivers ed) to Long Lake for our first and last beach visit for 2011.  It was superb!  Hot, not many people, warm water.  Fun!

New cut

Allison got the cutest haircut today.

My new love.

I've always wanted one and couldn't pass up a fantastic clearance at Lowes last week.  It was supposed to be an easy install, but it took Justin half the day...there are always complications.  It was nice to clean under the over too.  

I wasn't sure how it would work with the shorter kids, but so far so good.  Ammon has yet to use it, which is probably a good thing.
It is tempting to want to buy new appliances (dryer and oven) but both work okay.  Our oven had my favorite burner not working for the past couple of years and it was finally fixed last Saturday.  No complaints from me anymore.  Thanks my handyman, Justin!!

Scouts

Isaac is working on his bicycling merit badge.  Today is his final 25 mile ride then he (and Jacob) has the whopping 50 miler left.
