Random Thoughts August/September 2015

August 28
Jacob got his license a couple of weeks ago and it is changing life as we know it.
He now drives himself to work and even went to Smith's for milk on the way home.
School started last Wednesday.  Here's to a more quiet home during the day - cheers!  Except Jacob is home during the days, but he doesn't usually wake up until around noon.
I went to Ed Week again this year, rooming with Erin Gray.  Our fourth year rooming together, and my fifth time attending.  It's always a great spiritual uplift.
Allison had her hair done in the ombre style.  I'm not in love with the color (reddish and lighter than I thought it would be) but she's excited about it.
September 22
Jacob had a brain scan (neurofeedback therapy) and found that he has brain trauma from his bike accident last year.  He also shows that his brain never really goes into REM sleep so that's why he's always tired.  Also his brain never shuts down; he can't self sooth.  He is on a long track of therapy which we hope (and pray!) that this will help him.
He is also going to start working at the DI (LDS thrift store).  He's excited about this.
Ammon worked hard on his latest book report.  I love watching his little face concentrate.
Allison has been helping with cooking more; possibly due to watching a lot of Cupcake Wars on Netflix.
Isaac is deep into the mountain bike team.  He doesn't really like it, but goes.  He usually finishes around 75% of the group.  He's not much of a competitive soul.
I'm on the up and up, most of the time.
Justin is busting his bunsies trying to get his business off the ground.
I discovered that Jason Mraz has an album out LAST YEAR that I didn't know about.  !!!!
Jacob and I ate at In N Out today.  Even though we are deep in the poorness of life.  It was amazing and made my tummy feel loved.
Myri brought us her first mouse/vole last week.  :)

Zucchini Boats

One of my favorite things from my childhood was building zucchini boats.
Central Park/Merlin Olsen Park, Logan.
Jacob stayed home (4 days) by himself and Myri.

Ammon found an apple floating in the water and carved it to race.

It was cold but Justin manned it out in the water.

Isacc - Mountain Bike Team Race #1

Lined up.  He's not a pushy guy, so was pretty much in the back of the pack.
 Starting line.
 After a jump.

Smiling.  Even though he thought it was two laps instead of three. This is the end of the third lap.

After.  I'm pretty sure he's got some of that dirt in his teeth.  I do, and I didn't race.

First Day of School 2015

And last but not least, Jacob's first day of NOT going to school.

Random Thoughts July 2015

July 2
I joined Clash of Clans (the game app).  Justin has been obsessed with this game for over a year and it has caused some tension in our house.  I thought, "if I can't beat 'em, join 'em."
July 7
Spent last weekend in Logan celebrating the 4th.  Did the whole fireworks thing which was nice.  Dad has found a great location.  The kids has a fantastic time lighting off our little purchase of home fireworks.  The tanks are always a hit.  They also loved the parachute guys.
Our kitten, Myri, has been a fun addition to our family.  Jacob has really taken to her.
Isaac is spending the week with his cousin Dax in Millville.  I'm sure he's getting in as many game playing hours as possible.
I have a zit that is the hugest I've ever had.  I woke up Sunday morning to a swollen lip.  A VERY LARGE swollen lip.  Day three and it's gone down considerably, but still huge.
UGH.  I'm almost 40!
July 26
It has been a ROUGH month.  Justin lost his job AGAIN.  Raleigh decided to go with independent reps instead of company reps.  They fired almost the entire United States sales force.
Here we go aaaaagain.
Justin has been a little more successful this go round.
He's trying to start his own independent company called Flow Independent.  He has one strong line to represent so far and two great leads that should pan out this week.  *fingers crossed*
So we have to pay our own health insurance, taxes, gas, everything.
This could go really really well, or really really bad.
I have been going through a major sort of depression which is super stinky for everyone around me.
We had a great time at a Dittmer reunion in St. George last weekend.  I enjoy this family so much.
I will miss if they decide to forgo reunions due to size and cost.

We went on a walk across the street to see what they've been building.  Yuck.

Ammon's fort still stands!

Tour of Utah through Logan canyon.

Unearthed the tractor.

Shannon and Sam.
Playing with the macro setting on my new lens.

Yummy blackberry juice drink at Grandmas,
Planted from seeds I found on a hike.
These three pears on our tree have since been knocked off.

We all are in love with our kitten, Myri.  Especially Jacob.

Poor Allison had her wisdom teeth out plus a little surgery to help a stuck tooth.  She gets a GOLD chain to hook onto her braces wire to help ratchet it into place.
